Steamed Halibut Filet with Ginger and Green Onion

This Chinese dish is typically made with a whole fish (grouper or bass). But if you're like me and find cooking a whole fish for a 2-person meal to be too much food, a filet size works extremely well! The best thing is that you don't have to deal with removing the fish bones during the meal with a filet of halibut.

Serves 28 ounce halibut steak filet
Place the green onion, ginger, soy sauce, pepper and salt over the fish in a steamer-friendly bowl. Steam fish in double boiler pot for 10-12 min, until the fish is just cooked.

1 tbsp ginger, cut in slivers
2 green onions, cut in 1 inch length slivers
2 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
3 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, cut in thirds

Place garlic and oil in a small sauce pot over medium heat. Once the oil is smoking, about 5-6 min turn the heat off and pour oil over the cooked fish immediately.

Serve with steamed rice and a side of green vegetables, like Shanghai bak choy,

I use the All- Clad 3 quart steamer and it works wonders for this dish and steamed vegetables.
Very easy to clean too!

Steam fish for 10 min or until fish is just cooked.

Heat oil and garlic in a small pot until oil is smoking, pour over cooked fish dish.
