Salt and Pepper Fried Fish Filet

My husband and in-laws have introduced me to so many new Korean dishes and they are all delicious! Today, I'm sharing a salt and pepper fried fish with a vinegar soy sauce dip.

Cod - frozen or fresh is a great fish to use for this dish.  Truth be told, I much prefer fresh fish but this dish works quite well with frozen cod. The salt and pepper is a nice light marinade and the dipping sauce cuts the flavour to create a well-balanced and flavourful seafood meal.

Serves 2-3
Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 8 min

600 grams or 3 filets of firm white fish like cod cut into 3 by 1-inch pieces
1 stalk green onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
1/2 tsp sea salt
3 eggs, scrambled
3/4 cup flour
1 tbsp olive oil

Dipping sauce:

1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp sesame seeds

Mix together the ingredients for the dipping sauce and set aside.

Pat the fish dry with a paper towel after they are cut into small pieces (3 by 1 inch in size).

Mix the minced garlic, salt and pepper together and spread it out on a plate. Place the fish on this plate and spoon a bit of the garlic, salt and pepper mixture on each piece.

In a bowl, stir the diced green onion in with the eggs.

Cover each piece of fish on both sides with flour and then dip into egg mixture coating evenly.

Fry fish on each side for approx. 4 min over medium heat until each side is lightly browned and the fish is cooked through. Serve immediately with dipping sauce.
